Made to Order

You choose an existing signature lehenga silhouette from our collection and we recreate it in your heirloom pure silk, according to your measurements. This is different from Bespoke, where we develop an entirely new design from scratch.

Made-to-Order starts at around ₹50,000. Your final price depends on the selected silhouette, size, condition and quantity of your heirloom silk, permitted modifications and whether additional pieces or fabrics are required.

The silhouette, pattern, neckline, construction, embroidery and other established design elements remain as originally designed. We may be able to modify sleeves or straps, subject to technical feasibility. If you want to substantially change an existing design, we recommend our Full Bespoke service.

Yes. A coordinating dupatta or veil can be created depending on available fabric and will be quoted separately.

No. Changing the neckline affects the pattern and construction of the original design and therefore falls outside our Made-to-Order service. If you would like to redesign the garment, we can explore it under Full Bespoke.

We primarily work with substantial pure silk sarees, particularly Kanjivaram, Paithani and Banarasi silk. Other pure woven silks may be considered after inspection.

This particular service is designed around the revival of heirloom pure silks. If you don't have one you would like to use, you can also request to look through our personal collection (subject to availability), or request us to source a new silk fabric for you.

For Made-to-Order, we don't work with georgette, chiffon, organza, tissue, synthetic blends or similarly lightweight fabrics. If you're unsure what your saree is made from, send us photographs and whatever information you have when submitting your enquiry. Final acceptance will still require physical inspection.

Possibly. In fact, that's exactly what excites us about this service. Age itself isn't the problem. Structural condition is. Once the saree reaches us, we'll inspect the strength of the silk, zari, borders, damaged areas and overall usable fabric. Some sarees can be revived and reinforced. Others may unfortunately be too fragile to safely reconstruct.

If the saree can be used but requires reinforcement, stabilisation, repair or other preparation, we'll recommend the necessary revival work and carry it out.

We will not cut or begin construction with a textile that we consider unsuitable. We'll explain why we don't recommend using it and can discuss whether you have another heirloom saree that might work instead.

As a general guideline, one standard saree can usually accommodate a corset/top and lehenga up to approximately size L. This varies depending on the dimensions and condition of the saree and the silhouette selected.

For sizes XL and above, we recommend our Full Bespoke service. Our current corset patterns are designed for body types up to a 38C cup size. Above this range, we would need to create a new pattern specifically for your body type to ensure the right fit and support. As this requires developing a new pattern from scratch, we can only accommodate it through our Full Bespoke service.

Yes, and we particularly love this idea when the textiles work together. We'll assess both sarees and recommend how they could be combined while respecting the selected silhouette.

Any meaningful usable remnants of your heirloom textile will be returned to you with your finished garment. Very small cutting waste and unusable damaged portions may not always be recoverable.

After your consultation, we'll send you the exact list of measurements required. We strongly recommend having them taken by a professional seamstress or experienced local tailor. Please do not estimate your measurements or simply send us your usual clothing size.

Your garment is constructed according to the measurements you provide. Alterations or reconstruction required because incorrect measurements were supplied may incur additional charges.

Please tell us as soon as possible. Minor fit corrections may be possible depending on the stage of construction. Significant measurement changes may require additional alterations, incur additional charges and potentially affect your delivery date.

Our minimum lead time is three months. This does not begin from the date you fill in the form or have your consultation. The production timeline begins only once your saree has been physically received and approved, your measurements and order information are complete and full payment has been received.

Please mention the exact event date in your enquiry. We do not accept rush orders. Please allow a minimum lead time of 3 months for all Made-to-Order projects.

Full payment is required before production begins. Once your textile has been inspected and your project scope is confirmed, we'll communicate your final quotation.

Once production has commenced, Made-to-Order purchases are final sale and non-refundable. Your garment is made specifically for your measurements and involves cutting and transforming your personal heirloom textile, it cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged.

Not necessarily, and that's intentional. Vintage textiles can carry colour variations, old zari, minor marks, repairs and other signs of their history. We don't consider these imperfections something that necessarily needs to disappear. They're part of the textile's story.

No. Turning a saree into a structured garment requires cutting, pattern placement and construction. We thoughtfully preserve borders, motifs, pallu details and other significant elements wherever the design and textile allow, but we cannot guarantee that every element of the original saree will appear in the finished garment.

No. Made-to-Order is exclusively for recreating our own existing silhouettes using your heirloom textile. If you're interested in creating an original garment with us, please consider exploring our Full Bespoke service.
